When To Use Hot & Cold Therapy

Cold Therapy

Cold therapy is best used as an immediate treatment for sprains, strains, bruises, burns or stings and headaches. It helps by reducing swelling, pain and inflammation.

Hot Therapy

Ideal for when the injury is older than 48 hours. Heat causes the blood vessels to dilate bringing more blood into the area to stimulate healing of damaged tissue. Heat has a soothing effect and helps to relieve pain, stiffness, menstrual cramps, spasms and pain associated with arthritis.
