Injury Advice

(to be used in first 72 hours after injury)
P Protect
Protect the affected area from further injury.
R Rest
Avoid exercise, sit or lie down in a comfortable position.
I Ice
Ice the injured area for 20 minutes every 2 hours. Use FreezPeaz wrapped in a damp tea towel or thin towel.
C Compression
Compress the area with a compression bandage to limit swelling (if you get pins and needles or numbness, ease off on the compression).
E Elevation
If possible elevate the injured area above the level of your heart for as long as possible to minimize bleeding and swelling.

Ideal for when the injury is older than 48 hours. Heat causes the blood vessels to dilate bringing more blood into the area to stimulate healing of damaged tissue. Heat has a soothing effect and helps to relieve pain, stiffness, menstrual cramps, spasms and pain associated with arthritis.
